Kieran Trippier has confirmed he will leave Newcastle United when his contract expires this summer.

The defender has been an important player since joining the Magpies from Atletico Madrid in January 2022.

He has made 157 appearances across all competitions, bagging four goals and 29 assists.

With Tino Livramento’s future also uncertain, Newcastle may need to sign two full-backs in the upcoming transfer window.

We look at some of the options the club could sign this summer.

Ivan Fresneda

Fresneda’s impressive performances at Sporting CP have attracted attention from several top European clubs.

The 21-year-old initially struggled to make an impact after joining Sporting in 2023.

He has revived his form under manager Rui Borges to establish himself as a regular first-team player.

Fresneda is known for his composure under pressure, tackling ability and duel success rate.

Sporting signed the Spaniard for only €9 million, but they are expected to demand a higher fee. Arsenal and Manchester City are also reportedly interested in him

Ben White

Ben White originally played as a centre-back but has successfully transitioned to right-back at Arsenal.

The England international is Premier League-proven and highly rated for his composure, passing range, and aggressive defending.

White has made 182 senior appearances for the Gunners, tallying seven goals and 14 assists.

However, he has been struggling for opportunities under Mikel Arteta this season, starting only five Premier League games.

Arsenal could be open to a sale as White is no longer a regular starter, and they need to raise funds for new signings this summer.

Ola Aina

If Nottingham Forest drop down to the Championship, sme of their big names will leave the club.

The Nigerian international has established himself as a key first-team member since joining in 2023.

Aina missed a major chunk of the ongoing season with a hamstring injury, but he has still started 15 Premier League matches.

Forest could demand a hefty fee for the 29-year-old, who has a contract at the City Ground until 2028.

Given his versatility and solid defensive skills, a big outlay for a transfer would be justified.
