Alban Juster, a discreet management controller by trade, will serve as OM’s interim president at the age of 36. He will be overseen by Shéhérazade Semsar-de Boisséson and will not step into the sporting sphere, which remains with Medhi Benatia until June.

According to L'Équipe, the Paris-region native studied in Rouen at Neoma business school, formerly ESC Rouen, specialising in management control and audit. He also captained the school’s football team, an intelligent and meticulous midfielder.

On graduation he joined Ernst & Young, then caught the eye of a headhunting firm working notably for McCourt Global. His technical profile, detached from the Marseille context, appealed to Jacques-Henri Eyraud, who approved his arrival.

Juster climbed the ladder, holding roles including director of financial operations and administrative, HR and finance director. He was for a time the right-hand man to Stéphane Tessier, then joined Pablo Longoria’s inner circle after Tessier’s departure in May 2024. He is regarded as hard-working, composed and cautious, shunning political games and the spotlight.

He will now work alongside Benatia and the supervisory board’s vice-chair, Semsar-de Boisséson. She will be at the Vélodrome on Sunday night as OM face OL at 20:45, and has ambitions to reform France’s football institutions.
