An insight into the plans of La Liga giants Real Madrid to hand out the club’s no.9 jersey for the season ahead has on Wednesday been provided.

This of course comes fresh off the iconic number being vacated by Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé was on Tuesday officially unveiled as the new no.10 in Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad.

As much comes after the departure of Luka Modrić on a free transfer earlier this month.

The knock-on effect of this move is that the 9 shirt – also considered an iconic one in Spain’s capital – is now available for the taking.

And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, an insight into the leading candidate to take on the responsibility of the jersey has been provided.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘After Mbappé’s move to number 10 and Asencio’s to number 17, the next step should be Endrick’s move to number 9. That’s the most likely scenario.’
