A potential showdown between the Bellingham brothers at the Club World Cup is no longer on the cards.

This comes after Jobe Bellingham, the younger of the pair, picked up a suspension at the tournament.

Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are of course fresh off booking their respective places in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup.

In the case of the former, a 1-0 victory over Juventus was enough to march on, whilst German heavyweights Dortmund put Mexican outfit Monterrey to the sword by two goals to one.

The two giants of European football, in turn, have been pitted against one another for a spot in the CWC semi-finals.

This potential fixture had long been garnering excitement amongst fans, in potentially forcing Bellingham brothers Jude and Jobe into a midfield showdown in the USA.

As alluded to above, however, no such battle will in fact take place.

Unfortunately for Dortmund, summer signing Jobe Bellingham picked up his latest yellow card against Monterrey, ruling him out of the Real Madrid clash through suspension.
