Why Karim Adeyemi did not train with Barcelona squad on Friday | OneFootball

Incoming Barcelona signing Karim Adeyemi was not yet permitted to link up with his new teammates in training on Friday morning.

This comes owing to strict rules surrounding the terms of player transfers.

Attacker Adeyemi is of course set to be unveiled as the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s Barcelona squad at any moment. After the Blaugrana thrashed out a quick-fire agreement with their counterparts at Borussia Dortmund, the German international touched down in Catalunya’s capital earlier this week.

Having familiarised himself with his new surroundings, and even met many of his new teammates, the hope was therefore that Adeyemi would be afforded the chance to train at the Ciutat Esportiva for the first time on Friday.

As alluded to above, however, this did not prove to be the case.

Instead, the 24-year-old was forced to watch on from the sidelines, with an explanation for precisely why having since been provided by Barca insider Gerard Romero:

‘Karim Adeyemi arrived at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning, greeted his teammates, but still couldn’t train with them. Until all the documents are OK and ready to formalize the arrival, he cannot work out.’
