Arsenal captain Kim Little says she wants her side to use their FIFA Women’s Champions Cup win as additional motivation and momentum as they return to domestic action.

The Gunners beat Corinthians 3-2 on Sunday to lift the inaugural trophy – and when they get back to the Women’s Super League next week they have the toughest of tasks as they take on table-toppers Manchester City.

They also have the prospect of the continued defence of their UEFA Women’s Champions League crown as they face OH Leuven in the round of 16 on Wednesday, 11th February.

After that, they have a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, 15th February.

They then go into a Women’s FA Cup fifth-round tie against Bristol City on Sunday, 22nd February.

“Definitely, hopefully we can use this, enjoy this moment and then use it to capitalise,” Little told the club’s official website after being named the final’s player of the match.

“Some really great performances going into the league next weekend and the FA Cup and then obviously the Champions League as well.”

Kim Little: Arsenal put out two great performances

Arsenal centre half Lotte Wubben-Moy had already said how thrilling it was to be able to make history with the club, winning a brand-new competition.

And Little thought it was additionally special to play the final at the Emirates.

“I think that moment, to be able to do that at our stadium and to lift the trophy in this manner after a Champions League win, I’m not sure any of us will ever experience that again, so I’ll make sure to enjoy that.

“Obviously winning the Champions League and that journey we went on to win that, we were able to continue that today.

“This week with the Champions Cup, it’s great to continue that journey, we came up against two different teams that we hadn’t obviously played against before, and I think put out two really great performances.”
