While most WSL teams have just one more game before the winter break, Manchester United have four fixtures in 11 days that could make or break their season. 

Important run for Manchester United

Manchester United kick off a busy winter schedule on Wednesday night.

Marc Skinner’s team play Lyon in the Champions League this week as they look to secure a spot in the knockout phase.

The Red Devils then face high-flying Tottenham at home in their final WSL game of 2025.

A win against Spurs would be huge for United, but anything but three points would see their already slim title hopes all-but diminish.

United have another quick turnaround after Sunday’s WSL fixture as they play their final Champions League group game against Juventus.

Skinner will be hoping that United have already secured a spot in the knockouts by then so they can rest players before their final game of the year.

Their final game of the year will be a repeat of next week’s WSL clash against Tottenham but this time in the League Cup.

A win in the quarters would set United up with a cup semi-final, which is the furthest they have ever gone in the competition.

United were relieved to welcomed back Phallon Tullis-Joyce over the weekend and her return from injury could be vital to their upcoming run.

Are United still in the title race?

After winning against West Ham this weekend, Manchester United remain in the title race.

Marc Skinner’s team are still eight points behind their bitter rivals Manchester City. United did gain ground on Chelsea this week after the Blues faltered against Everton.

It is impossible to rule out any of the top five from the title race despite City’s lead with 12 games still to go.

United face Arsenal and Aston Villa after the winter break in an important couple of games for their title charge.

There may be some new faces in Manchester after the league breaks up for Christmas and the club has already identified the requirement of a new midfielder after Celin Bizet’s pregnancy announcement.

Much like the mens team, United have been financially restricted in the past year and they may not be able to spend too much in the January transfer window.
