A lot of people, including (especially) Liverpool fans, are saying that Yoane Wissa and Alexander Isak have acted in a very similar way.

However,I think there are a number of key differences.

Yoane Wissa had returned to training at Brentford and was available to play for the team, unlike Alexander Isak.

Whilst all of Isak’s statements have been about his grievances and what he wants.

When Yoane Wissa has played for Brentford, he’s continually played well and given his all.

Whereas there were noticeable dips in Isak’s form last season and question marks about his application and his commitment.

There has even been a media claim that Alexander Isak supposedly didn’t want Newcastle United to qualify for the Champions League, as that might make it more difficult for him to get a transfer.

Finally, the transfer to Newcastle United gives Yoane Wissa the chance for the first time to play in the Champions League fairly late in his career, whereas Alexander Isak was already guaranteed Champions League football if he’d stayed at the club.
