Taylor Hinds of Arsenal and Lucia Kendall of Aston Villa are both named in England’s starting line-up to face Australia in a friendly on Tuesday evening.
Both were named to the Lionesses senior squad for the first time this international camp.
And after much controversy about her starting position and whether her future for England lay at right back, Manchester United captain Maya Le Tissier looks set to partner Esme Morgan in the centre of defence, with Hinds and Lucy Bronze at full back.
Alex Greenwood and Jess Carter – who started against Brazil on Saturday – are both rested, but are named on the bench.
Hannah Hampton returns in goal after Khiara Keating made her debut at the weekend.
And Chelsea’s Aggie Beever-Jones will lead the line having picked up an award for being the year’s top goalscorer last week. She will partner Alessia Russo of Arsenal, with Ella Toone and Beth Mead providing the service, and Keira Walsh wearing the armband in the middle of the park.
The full starting line-up is as follows: Hannah Hampton, Lucy Bronze, Taylor Hinds, Keira Walsh (c), Maya Le Tissier, Esme Morgan, Beth Mead, Lucia Kendall, Alessia Russo, Ella Toone, Aggie Beever-Jones.
The substitutes are Niamh Charles, Khiara Keating, Georgia Stanway, Alex Greenwood, Jess Carter, Chloe Kelly, Missy Bo Kearns, Michelle Agyemang, Laura Blindkilde Brown, Anna Moorhouse, Grace Fisk, Jess Naz.
Sarina Wiegman had said earlier in the month that Maya Le Tissier was more likely to start as a right back for England – with Leah Williamson and Millie Bright long being the first-choice duo in the middle, and Alex Greenwood able to play either on the left or in the middle. Jess Carter has also played centrally.
“She plays centre-back every single [club] game and I think she has good performances, but I also think that, for us, her first position still is the right full-back position.” Wiegman said.
England lost 2-1 to Brazil at the City of Manchester Stadium on Saturday.
Early goals from Bia Zaneratto and Dudinha did the damage before captain Angelina was sent off in the 21st minute.
The Lionesses’ only reply was a 52nd-minute penalty from Georgia Stanway.
Australia, however, got a 2-1 win over Wales in Cardiff, spoiling Jess Fishlock’s retirement party.
Teenage debutante Mared Griffiths cancelled out Courtney Nevin’s opener, but a late goal from Caitlin Foord gave Joe Montemurro’s team the victory.
