Manchester United’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox, is said to be spearheading the club’s interest in Lewis Hall in the lead-up to the transfer window, according to talkSPORT.

However, given it’s widely anticipated that the Newcastle United star will be included in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup selection, any potential transfer will likely have to wait until England have finished their campaign.

Lewis Hall: The state of play

Still, the report claims that Hall would be ‘open’ to a summer move away from St. James’ Park, which will be music to INEOS’ ears.

Hall is a boyhood fan of the Magpies, despite coming through Chelsea’s academy and spending 12 years on their books in London.

He spent a season on loan with the Tyneside outfit in 2023/2024 before they activated his £28 million (plus £7m in add-ons) buy obligation, tying him down to a contract until June 2029.

Reds eyeing another key Newcastle man along with Hall

Newcastle will do their utmost to keep hold of the 21-year-old, and not least because they’re already preparing for both Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali to push for exits when the season draws to a close.

The former is a firm target for giants Bayern Munich, while the latter is also believed to be on United’s midfield shortlist, although there’s no chance Newcastle would allow both Tonali and Hall to make the switch to Old Trafford.

Hall has racked up 74 Premier League appearances for the Magpies thus far, having only made nine for Chelsea throughout his lengthy tenure.
