FC Bayern Munich are always on the lookout for suitable additions to their squad. One player the record champions have been watching recently is now on the verge of a move to Chelsea

There are likely to be a number of changes to the FC Bayern squad in the summer of 2026. It remains to be seen exactly what these changes will be, as the planning behind the scenes is only now really getting underway. Leon Goretzka and Raphael Guerreiro will move on a free transfer, which will free up space in several positions in midfield

Noel Aseko, currently at Hannover 96, will return to Bayern. That is certain, the buy-back clause has been officially activated. However, it is not yet certain that he will stay, but he can at least show himself. Bayern watched Barco

Augustus Caesar of ESPN Argentina now reports that Bayern Munich have shown interest in Valentin Barco of RC Strasbourg. The Argentine midfielder has been watched on several occasions. Barco, who moved from Boca Juniors to Brighton in January 2024, failed to establish himself there and was first loaned out and then sold to Strasbourg. He is playing a fantastic season there, scoring two goals and providing nine assists, which is why many clubs have expressed interest

According to TyC Sports from Argentina, however, FC Bayern have not yet made an official bid, which apparently allows another big name to benefit, namely Chelsea FC. The Blues have good cards anyway because Strasbourg is the partner club and transfers between the two teams can be quick and easy. Nevertheless, a high transfer fee is due because the midfielder has been able to prove his class. A deal is not yet fixed, but with Chelsea now slowly but surely putting serious pressure on, Bayern will have no chance.
