Will Osula is on fire at the moment.

Denmark have qualified top of their group, into the quarter-finals.

The three group matches seeing Denmark score seven goals and five of them saw Will Osula directly involved in them. The NUFC player scoring three and getting two assists, with 125 minutes on the pitch so far, that means a direct goal involvement every 25 minutes on average.

The Danish media are taking a great interest in his development, especially with the hope he can become a regular on the pitch for Newcastle United.

Will Osula asked by Campo DK if he felt it a big upward leap since signing from Sheffield United:

“Yes, you can feel that 100 per cent.

“In everyday life, in training, during the matches.

“The fact that those you play with have great quality.

“It was also high quality at Sheffield United, they were also in the Premier League…

“But of course, there is a difference.

“Also because Newcastle United is a bigger club.”

Will Osula asked who he thinks are the toughest defenders in the Premier League:

“Maybe Virgil van Dijk.

“He is good, really strong.

“Last [2023/24] season I would say Thiago Silva. Even though he’s not the fastest, he is so smart.

“He reads and knows what to do before you do it.”

Some Newcastle United fans think that Will Osula should have been given more minutes on the pitch this past season, but the fact is, Eddie Howe has shown time and time again to know what he is doing. The way that he gave both Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento the right involvement and guidance early on, then when the Head Coach thought it was the right time, both of the (now!) full England internationals have been outstanding for Newcastle United.

That now leaves the quarter-finals looking like this.

21 June 2025

Portugal v Netherlands (5pm)

England v Spain (8pm)

22 June 2025

Germany v Italy (5pm)

Denmark v France (8pm)

If beating Spain, England would play the winners of Portugal v Netherlands in the semi-finals, meaning the possibility is now there of Will Osula facing Tino Livramento in the final.

Nick Woltemade of Germany is currently top scorer in the tournament with four goals, then two players on three goals, Portugal’s Geovany Quenda and Denmark’s/Newcastle’s Will Osula.
