When he has played, Andrew Omobamidele (22) has not let RC Strasbourg Alsace down, however, there is no guarantee that the Irish centre-back will remain at the club beyond the end of his loan spell.

Omobamidele joined Strasbourg from Nottingham Forest on a loan deal back in January. That deal included the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season for a fee estimated between €7-8m. Whilst there are conversations between Les Alsaciens and Nottingham Forest regarding his purchase option, there is no guarantee that the player will remain at the Meinau, L’Équipe report.

The first issue is the player’s injury record, which preceded his move to RCSA. Omobamidele has missed five Ligue 1 matches with an ankle issue since arriving, although he has started and completed his last two games. His salary is also an issue for Strasbourg. The centre-back’s current salary, worth €220,000 per month, is too high.
