Last night, Phil Foden scored a brace and put in a man-of-the-match performance in a crucial UEFA Champions League league phase win for Manchester City. Foden’s brace was well-deserved, and both goals showed Foden’s class. They were both class finishes, and when Foden is banging in goals from 25 yards out, he is an unstoppable force.

Goals aside, Foden has dropped into a deeper midfield role this season. Playing in midfield has allowed the England international to dictate matches with his passing, class and work rate. Foden’s technical ability and class as a player are well known. This season, his work rate has been immense, and it’s been a key part of his game.
