VfL Wolfsburg and VfB Stuttgart remain far apart over Dženan Pejčinović, with no breakthrough and Wolfsburg insisting negotiations will only resume if their €25 million valuation is met.
Pejčinović is waiting for Stuttgart to strike an agreement, having made clear he wants to stay in the Bundesliga and join the Champions League participants.
Stuttgart's €16 million offer, with €2 million in bonuses, was quickly declined by the now 2. Bundesliga club.
Wolfsburger Allgemeine reported the bid had been raised to €22 million early this week, although Bild said Wolfsburg had not received such an offer and any increase would still fall short of the asking price.
“Dzenan has a contract with us. We have a clear opinion. We don't want to sell him. But, we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.”
He told WAZ.
Stuttgart have also identified Feyenoord’s Leo Sauer as an alternative. The 20-year-old winger is contracted until 2028, and TSG Hoffenheim are also interested in the Slovak international.
