Leeds United could face Bundesliga competition for Danilho Doekhi, with Wolfsburg monitoring the defender, according to Sky Germany. Daniel Farke and Leeds are said to be interested this month.

Doekhi is into the final six months of his Union Berlin deal and is not planning to extend. Leeds would ideally wait for a free transfer in the summer, but a January move could be required.

Farke’s recent switch to a back three has left only four senior natural options, so additional depth is under consideration.

Wolfsburg are also looking at Brentford’s Kristoffer Ajer, a pricier proposition given his Premier League contract. The Norwegian has two and a half years remaining and has started 14 games across competitions, remaining an important squad option.

Interest from Wolfsburg could push Leeds to act before the two February deadline, though the loan market is being explored. Attack remains a mid-season focus after summer plans, and Farke is expected to discuss transfers later this week.
