Woltemade has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich and the German champions have informed Stuttgart of their desire to sign the forward.
The 23-year-old has had a breakout 12 months, scoring 17 times in all competitions for Stuttgart last season.
He has enhanced his reputation further with six goals and three assists at this summer’s u-21 European Championship. Woltemade and Germany take on England in the final this weekend. He’s now scored 13 goals in just 17 appearances for Germany at u-21 level and made his senior debut earlier this month.
Woltemade joined Stuttgart on a free transfer from Werder Bremen last summer and the 6ft 6in striker’s performances helped the club to DFB-Pokal success in 2024/25.
Several sides from England and Spain have expressed interest in signing Woltemade but Bayern Munich’s approach appears to ended the race for his signature.
Vincent Kompany is keen to strengthen his squad with another attacker, following the exits of Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, and Mathys Tel.
The forward has agreed terms on a five-year deal at the Allianz Arena and the two teams will now discuss a transfer fee.
Negotiations will take place once Woltemade returns from the u-21 European Championship.
