Rob Edwards delivered a scathing appraisal of his Wolves squad after defeat at Brighton, sparking a sharp split among supporters.

Wolves conceded twice in the opening minutes at the Amex, the first after 35 seconds. According to ExpressAndStar.com, Edwards then said he had given up on some players, called it embarrassing and indicated some had to go, noting they are bottom of the league.

Some fans praised his candour, saying he should turn to the under-21s rather than persist with players who do not want to be there. Others accepted relegation is likely, but argued the team should go down fighting.

Others felt the squad would struggle in Division one and urged the club to recruit experience for next season, with some also calling for a new head coach.

Another strand of opinion saw his outburst as proof of the scale of the rebuild, blaming poor summer signings. They argued his hands are tied by a thin squad and that a clear-out is needed.

Critics said there is no clear pattern of play and that his record is abysmal, despite a draw with Arsenal and wins over Villa and Liverpool. Some demanded a fresh start.

Standards were also condemned, with claims that too many players set sights on moves soon after the 0-4 defeat to City.

Broader anger focused on leadership, with complaints about a lack of direction and fears of going down with a whimper. Several called for a top-to-bottom reset.
