Wolves’ Ladislav Krejci capped a landmark break by leading Czechia to their first World Cup in 20 years. The captain struck in extra time against Denmark after a 1-1 finish in normal time, was pegged back, then his side won 3-1 on penalties despite his miss.

“I haven’t seen such a team performance in a long time. Penalties are a bit of a lottery, but they also reflected the way we approached the game. I’m proud of everyone,” he told Czech TV.
