From fearing an unwanted Premier League record to eyeing others to surpass, Wolves have revived their season and still have 21 points available across seven matches.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, an awful start under Vitor Pereira led to his dismissal, Rob Edwards stepped in, and the team remained bottom amid worries they might not pass Derby County’s 11 in 2007/08.

Improved displays over the festive period were followed by results. Wolves have cleared Derby’s 11, also overtaking Southampton’s 12 from last season, Sunderland’s 15 in 2005/06 and the 16 posted by Sheffield United in 2023/24 and Huddersfield Town in 2018/19.

The next low-water marks they could chase are 19 for Sunderland in 2002/03, 21 for Norwich City in 2019/20, 22 for Norwich in 2021/22 and 23 for Sheffield United in 2020/21.

Further ahead lie 24 for Watford in 1999/00 and Sunderland in 2016/17, then 25 for Wolves in 2011/12, QPR in 2012/13 and Southampton in 2022/23.

Beyond that sit 26 for Bradford City in 2000/01, 28 for Leicester City in 2001/02 and Watford in 2006/07, and 30 for Cardiff City in 2013/14 and QPR in 2014/15.
