Rob Edwards oversaw their relegation as he was unable to turn things around after his arrival as head coach in November.

It was assumed that he would lead the Old Gold into the second tier, but he was replaced suddenly earlier this month by Cesar Peixoto.

The Portuguese coach has taken his first foray into English football, and will be targeting a top two finish in the league next season.

But first it is set to be a busy summer at Molineux as the 46-year-old will want to shape the squad to his liking.

Here we look at all the latest transfer news surrounding Wolves following the opening of the market on 15 June…

It has been reported by Football Insider that Wolves are considering an approach to bring Adama Traore back to the club.

The forward is a free agent this summer, and could make the switch back to Molineux after his contract with West Ham expires.

Traore spent five years with the Midlands outfit before signing for Fulham in 2023, but he could join Raul Jimenez in coming back to the club this summer.

However, it’s believed that they face competition in the race for his signature, with no decision yet made on whether to make an offer.

The change in manager at Molineux has thrown a spanner in the works for Wolves’ transfer plans.

And it has been reported by the Shropshire Star that the club’s sporting director, Matt Jackson, has flown to Portugal to discuss their strategy with Peixoto following his performances.

The sporting director will be seeking elite talent that can help the Old Gold fight for promotion next season.

It’s believed that Edwards had played a key role in their transfer plans, but now Jorge Mendes is expected to step up in his place.

Rodrigo Pinheiro pursuit

It has been claimed by journalist Nathan Judah that Jackson is looking to secure the signing of Rodrigo Pinheiro.

The full-back has interest from a number of clubs, but the Championship side are pushing to ensure he makes the move to Molineux.

It’s understood that Mendes is playing a key role in helping the club in getting this deal over the line.

The 23-year-old featured 29 times for Famalicao in the league last season as they finished fifth in the Portuguese top flight.

Mateus Mane transfer interest

It has been reported by Express & Star that a number of top European clubs are interested in signing Mateus Mane.

It’s been claimed that Borussia Dortmund have entered the race to sign the 18-year-old, who impressed in the second half of the campaign for Wolves.

Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in the teenager, who has a contract with the Championship side until June 2029.

Mane contributed three goals and one assist from 27 appearances in the Premier League last season, which wasn’t enough to keep Wolves from relegation.
