In what has become a torrid campaign for Wolves, Matchday 28 will undoubtedly go down as their best of the season given that they beat Midlands rivals Aston Villa 2-0 on a wet Friday night a Molineux, and in doing so ensured that they won't go down as the worst team - in terms of points - in Premier League history. That record remains with Derby County.
The bad news is that Rob Edwards' men remain 14 points from safety with just nine games of the season remaining. I'm no genius when I say that the Old Gold will be playing Championship football from August onwards.
The victory over Villa should give Wolves a lot of confidence, especially on the back of coming from two goals down at home to league leaders Arsenal to earn a 2-2 draw 10 days earlier, meaning that their six-game form at Molinuex now reads a respectable W2-D2-L2.
It's also been a disappointing season for Liverpool in terms of a title defence given that they were out of the running when they lost six out of seven league games from late September.
Arne Slot's men have recovered well, and on Saturday they moved up to fifth in the table when putting five past West Ham in an entertaining affair at Anfield. Perhaps the only disappointing aspect from that game is that star man Mo Salah played the full 98 minutes and didn't have a goal involvement or register a single shot on target. His form remains a concern.
But for the Reds it's onwards and upwards. They're still in this season's Champions League and FA Cup, and they're on a run of six wins in their last seven games in all competitions, scoring a total of 20 goals in those victories. Away from home they've lost just once since early November - a 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth courtesy of the last kick of the game.
This is one of those games where, logically, you can only see one outcome - in this case a Liverpool win - but you have no interest in backing that outcome at the current odds.
Liverpool are 2/5 to claim the victory but I couldn't have that price on my mind at all. That doesn't mean I don't think they will win - I do - but there are just too many negatives in my mind.
One is that Wolves have been pretty decent at Molineux in recent months. Edwards' men have lost just two of their last seven on home soil in all competitons, and as we mentioned earlier, their last two games in front of their own fans resulted in them taking four points from games against Arsenal and Aston Villa.
As for the Reds, despite being in good form generally, they haven't exactly set the world alight on their travels recently, following that 3-2 defeat to Bournemouth with a brace of 1-0 wins at bottom-half sides Sunderland and Nottingham Forest, the latter victory coming courtesy of a 97th minute goal.
So it's a no bet market for me as Wolves make little appeal also at 13/2 given that they've won just two league games all season, and I rarely ever back the draw - available here at 4/1 - unless the price is the biggest of the Match Odds options and I can't call a winner.
My gut feeling is that Liverpool will record a narrow win, but it's not a feeling that I want to wager on.

Despit Liverpool being in a seven-goal thriller on Saturday I'm going to follow a pattern of their most recent away games and back Under 2.5 Goals here at 6/4.
Slot's men won both of their last two Premier League away games 1-0, and away to other relegation-threatened teams this season they won 1-0 at Burnley and 2-0 at West Ham.
Seven of Wolves' last 10 Premier League home games have resulted in either themselves or their opponents failing to score, and they've tended to stay in games for long periods recently.
These two sides meet again on Friday night in the FA Cup fifth round and the last thing Wolves will want going into that game is a heavy home defeat. I can see them playing very defensively here so a low-scoring game is worth chancing.
The Betfair Sportsbook have a generous offer this week where if you bet £10 on Football Accas or Bet Builders (minimum of three legs) then you will receive a £10 free bet.
This is a perfect opportunity to get a Liverpool win on my side at an enhanced price as I will also back under 3.5 goals to be scored in the match and the game to be level at the interval. This bet would have paid out in both of Liverpool's last two away games, and with a cagey, low-scoring affair fancied, it has a good chance of landing again.
