World Cup: Theate retains starting berth for Belgium against Senegal | OneFootball

Arthur Theate maintained his starting berth for Belgium in their knockout stage game against Senegal. Eintracht Frankfurt's defender had his full World Cup debut in the win over New Zealand by replacing the suspended Nathan Ngoy.

The Lille youngster is available for this one, but Theate's strong performance kept him away from the lineup. Former Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg superstar Kevin de Bruyne also played his best game of the tournament in the 5-1 victory for Rudi Garcia's side.

In Moussa Niakhate (Mainz), Ismael Jakobs (Köln) and Sadio Mané (FC Bayern), Senegal also have three players with past Bundesliga experiences in their starting lineup. Senegal also booked their place in the Round of 32 after a five-star performance against Iraq in the final matchday of the group stage.
