Real Madrid secured a confident yet straightforward 2-0 win against Villarreal on Saturday evening, with Federico Valverde and Vinicius Jr. getting the goals.

There were worrying scenes for Carlo Ancelotti’s men however as Vini was forced off the pitch in the 79th minute with an apparent injury.

The Brazilian winger was seen clutching his shoulder as he left the pitch following a challenge with Sergi Cardona. Medical staff attended the 24-year-old before the decision was made he couldn’t carry on.

In a concerning turn of events for fans of Los Blancos, the winger went straight down the tunnel upon exiting the pitch, presumably to receive treatment for his injury.

It remains to be seen how severe his injury may be, but everyone at the club will be hoping the Ballon d’Or frontrunner isn’t kept on the sidelines for too long.

Veteran right-back Dani Carvajal also suffered quite a distressing injury as he was stretchered off in the dying minutes of the clash.

The 32-year-old was in tears as he left the pitch after a nasty injury which saw him extend his knee in an unorthodox manner when challenging Yeremy Pino for the ball.

While Vinicius’ injury could possibly not be too serious, it would appear that Carvajal’s could possibly keep him out of action for a while with it’s severity.
