Bologna once again proved a difficult opponent for Inter Milan, with Italian media highlighting a worrying trend following the Nerazzurri’s Supercoppa Italiana semi-final exit in Riyadh.
According to La Repubblica, via FCInterNews, the protagonists of the night were Bologna goalkeeper Ravaglia and Ciro Immobile.
Ravaglia saved two penalties in the shootout, meanwhile Immobile converted the decisive spot-kick.
Vincenzo Italiano’s side will now face Napoli, with the newspaper noting the coach has “understood in Bologna that finals can be won.”

The focus then shifts firmly to Inter, and the numbers make for uncomfortable reading.
“Inter are instead forced to come to terms with yet another direct clash lost.” Repubblica writes, describing this as the sixth defeat in seven matches against direct rivals.
“A statistic too clear to hide behind luck or bad luck.”
The paper underlined how Bologna made the difference from the spot, with Immobile and Rowe both scoring.
Meanwhile “Bonny passed the ball to Ravaglia,” a biting description of the forward’s tame penalty in the shootout that followed a 1-1 draw in normal time.
For Inter, the Supercoppa defeat has once again exposed a fragile record in decisive matches against strong opposition.
Indeed, a pattern that is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
