Wrexham have drawn criticism from some Welsh supporters after England-branded baseball caps appeared in the club shop during the World Cup.

According to Wales Online, the white caps carry the club crest on the front and a St George’s Cross on the side, and were displayed in the shop at the Racecourse Ground alongside versions with Argentina, New Zealand, Thailand and Canada flags. The club have built a global following since the takeover by Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

Online reaction was mixed, with some calling the move an own goal. Others dismissed it as an AI prank or said the club were having a meltdown, and one criticised so-called half-and-half hats as a new low.

Not everyone objected. One English Wrexham fan argued there was nothing wrong, noting they live in the city and attend matches, and another user pointed out that caps with other national flags were also on sale and questioned the fuss.

The England hats were priced at £25. They were not listed for online purchase, while other versions, including Sweden, Australia, Finland and Greece, were available on the club’s website.
