Wrexham are being linked with Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph, with MOT Leeds News reporting that the 22-year-old striker is on the Welsh club’s watchlist.

The big-spending side are chasing a fourth successive promotion from non league to the Premier League. Should they get there, further squad investment is expected.

Leeds sanctioned a season-long loan to Mallorca last summer after Joseph asked to leave. There is no clause to make the move permanent, so he is due back at Elland Road.

He has scored two goals in 29 La Liga appearances, yet remains well regarded at Mallorca.

Joseph signed his latest Leeds extension in January 2024 and has two years left, so any bidder will face a fee reflecting that contract.

He has indicated he would prefer to continue at Mallorca if possible, though he accepts his future depends on Leeds and remains unresolved.

Daniel Farke admires Joseph, but it is viewed as highly unlikely he will play for Leeds again even if he returns this summer.
