Xabi Alonso critical of Real Madrid players after Sevilla | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso has admitted that he was left less than impressed by the performance put forth by his players on Saturday.

Los Blancos were of course in action for the latest occasion yesterday evening.

Rounding out their fixture list for 2025, Alonso and co. welcomed Sevilla to Spain’s capital, for a La Liga clash.

When all was said and done, the evening’s hosts emerged 2-0 victors, to close the gap on table-topping Barcelona to a solitary point.

As alluded to above, though, one individual who appeared less than satisfied following the full-time whistle at the Bernabéu was Xabi Alonso.

Speaking to the media in his post-match press conference, Real Madrid’s headmaster was asked for his take on the manner in which Saturday’s matchup played out.

And Alonso was not shy in confirming:

“I’m not happy with our level today. What needs improvement? Several aspects.”
