After three seasons with Internazionale, Yann Sommer has officially embarked on a new chapter in his career. The experienced Swiss goalkeeper has opted to move to Belgian football to strengthen Club Brugge on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until June 2029.

With 94 appearances for the senior national team of Switzerland, the goalkeeper began his football journey in the youth ranks of FC Basel, and also represented FC Vaduz early in his career.

However, it was in Basel that he established himself as first choice - after a brief spell with Grasshoppers - before moving to Germany four seasons later via Borussia Mönchengladbach. Sommer was the undisputed starter for the German side for eight consecutive years.

In 2022/23, he joined Bayern München for half a season before heading to Italy to take over in goal for Inter Milan. Now, he has decided to leave the Italian club to experience Belgian football for the first time.
