Although Al Hilal were knocked out of the 2025 FIFA Club World cup at the quarter final stage, Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou's retained his crown as the tournament’s best shot stopper, thanks to his historic performances.
The Saudi giants exited the competition following 2 - 1 loss to Fluminense but their run was nothing short of memorable. They stunned Man City in the Round of 16 with dramatic 4 - 3 win and Bounou was central to that success.
According to football analytics platform Sofascore, Bounou set Club World cup record by making 11 saves in single match (the most ever) against Man City.
Across the tournament, Bounou made 25 save, averaging 5 per match with 81% save rate and even denied penalty. With final Sofascore rating of 7.84 he finished as the highest rated goalkeeper of the competition.
The 2025 Club World cup concluded on Sunday with Chelsea lifting the trophy after commanding 3 - 0 win over Paris Saint Germain in the final.
