Jadon Sancho’s future has been the subject of debate for weeks now.
Ever since it was revealed that Chelsea can pay a £5m penalty to NOT sign him, the debate has raged over what the Blues should do.
Well Sancho added a new element to the conversation with his superb goal today. There were grumbles to the point of boos when he was introduced as a second half sub – although as much as anything that was related to the fact it was Noni Madueke coming off rather than Sancho coming on.
But the winger soon silenced his critics with a superb goal, picking up a corner taken short and then bending the ball in at the far post.
It’s more evidence for those who have been saying all along that he should shoot more often.

Speaking in his press conference after the game, Enzo Maresca was asked to address the future of his winger. Would Sancho be at Chelsea next season? The answer was as clear as mud:
“Yeah, no, he’s doing well. Today we decided to start with Pedro and Noni. Noni is back from injury, scored twice the other day. Pedro is doing well. And Jadon is playing almost every game,” Maresca explained.
“The idea was just to refresh a little bit with him, knowing that he’s going to give us a good moment, goal assist, and he’ll show himself in the second half. Then for the future, to be honest, now is the moment. With one month to go, it’s just the focus. It’s about how we can finish, and then we have time to decide.”
It sounds like nothing has been decided just yet, and Sancho can still change his future with more good moments like this.
