According to Sky Sports, Congolese striker Yoane Wissa, who recently signed for Newcastle United, will be sidelined for four to six weeks due to a knee injury.Wissa suffered the injury during the 2026 World Cup qualifier between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal, after scoring two crucial goals against South Sudan and Senegal.
The forward has yet to make his debut for the Magpies and will miss at least the next six matches for his team, with a possible return after the October international break.Wissa joined Newcastle on the final day of the summer transfer window from Brentford for £55 million, signing a four-year contract.Let's recall that the Leopards' striker had a standout season last year with Brentford, netting 20 goals and providing 5 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions, making him one of Newcastle’s marquee signings this summer.
