Paris Saint-Germain have kept Yohan Cabaye as academy sporting director after an internal process that urged his removal. The former France midfielder has received a formal warning, with adjustments to follow.

The review followed complaints over the work climate, sick leave and a labour inspection in late October. According to L'Équipe, the CSE urged Cabaye’s exit, a recommendation the outlet revealed on 12 February.

After further consideration and an extra inquiry, the club chose to retain him. Lucas Vigneron, the academy operations head also criticised, was not sanctioned. The club reaffirmed confidence in Cabaye and judged the steps proportionate.

Given the seriousness of some accusations, notably in pre-academy and recruitment, several measures have begun. They were outlined to academy staff on Monday lunchtime by Victoriano Melero, Grégory Durand and HR director Caroline Jucla.

More interdepartmental meetings are planned and psychological support is available if needed. Management stressed a wish to build the project with staff and to improve links with the men’s first team.

Senior leaders will be more present at the Campus, with Durand there twice a week and the HR director every fortnight, to take the pulse in Poissy and ensure delivery.

Cabaye accepted his share of responsibility and said better communication is required.
