Youri Tielemans has urged Aston Villa to quickly park Saturday’s defeat at Fulham, with attention already on Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first leg at Nottingham Forest.

As reported by ExpressAndStar.com, the reverse at Craven Cottage halted a six-match unbeaten run, Ryan Sessegnon’s first-half strike securing the points and denying Villa another step towards a top-five Premier League finish.

Villa were some way short of their best, with Ollie Watkins, Tammy Abraham and Morgan Rogers missing presentable chances while Bernd Leno was rarely extended. Tielemans felt it was not their day and said they must maximise the remaining fixtures to stay where they are.

Unai Emery highlighted a lack of cutting edge, noting the plan was largely followed but the side needed to occupy the box better and be more clinical. He called it a tight game settled by a single goal and repeated his message to keep going and seek weekly improvement.

Villa now head to the City Ground carrying nine straight wins in Europe, although domestic away form is troubling with five Premier League road matches without victory, including a 1-1 draw at Forest earlier this month.
