Yuri Alberto ended a nine-match drought by scoring the winner in Corinthians’ 1-0 defeat of Barra in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase, moving clear atop the club’s 2026 scoring chart.

It was the striker’s sixth goal in 24 appearances this year. His most prolific spell came in late January, when he netted three in four over 10 days, against Santos and Velo Clube in the Paulistão and Flamengo in the Supercopa do Brasil.

He then went five games without scoring, before striking against Flamengo in the Brasileirão to complete a 1-1 draw. Two matches later he scored versus Platense of Argentina in the Libertadores, the first outing under Fernando Diniz.

After that, the Fiel endured nine games without a goal from their number nine. During that run, centre-back Gustavo Henrique hit three, all in the Libertadores, against Santa Fe and Peñarol, trimming Alberto’s lead.

Alberto now has six from 24, with Gustavo Henrique on four from 25.

André Luiz and Breno Bidon follow on three apiece.
