Zamalek SC booked their place in the Egyptian Super Cup Final after defeating Pyramids FC 5-4 on penalties following goalless draw in Abu Dhabi on Thursday night.

The match held at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium was tight tactical affair with both sides creating few clear chances across 90 minutes.

Neither team could find breakthrough, sending the semi-final to tense shootout.

In the penalty shootout, Zamalek excelled in scoring penalties, securing their place in the Egyptian Super Cup final to face Al Ahly.

Cairo derby final set

Zamalek’s victory sets up Cairo Derby final against eternal rivals Al Ahly who earlier beat Ceramica Cleopatra 2-1.

The Super Cup Final will take place on Sunday at 3:30 pm GMT, also at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in the United Arab Emirates.
