At 38, former Santos striker Zé Love will turn out for Milan de Ribeirão Preto in Copa Regatas, a private members’ competition at the Clube de Regatas, according to Globo.com.

Back in 2012, after leaving Santos for Genoa, he attracted interest from the original Milan. Rumours that he refused tests at the Italian club were later denied by him in August 2025.

The move was announced on the club’s and the player’s social media with a video of him in the shirt and career highlights. In the clip he said he is Milan now.

Contact was made by club president Guilherme Petersen, a devoted Santos supporter. Zé Love lives in Promissão, his birthplace, and has also been appearing in exhibition games.

He retired in 2023 with Iguatu-CE. His Santos peak brought 51 matches, 18 goals and two assists in 2010, then 30 games, eight goals and one assist in 2011, along with two Paulista titles, the Copa do Brasil and the Libertadores.

After Santos he played for Genoa and Siena in Italy, returned to Brazil with Coritiba in 2014, then joined Shanghai Shenxin in China. He later turned out for Al-Shaab in the United Arab Emirates, Al-Faisaly in Saudi Arabia, Pahang in Indonesia, and Brazilian clubs including Goiás, Vitória, Figueirense, Oeste, Brasiliense and Cianorte before Iguatu.
