Playing for Manchester United is a dream for many young people around the world, and only a select few ever get to achieve it.

The academy has always been the lifeblood of the club, and Carrington holds a special place in the hearts of most United supporters.

Ineos have made a considerable effort to bolster the academy since taking over the running of football operations at the club in early 2024.

They have signed notable youth talents such as Chido Obi, Sekou Kone, Diego Leon and Cristian Orozco.

The club will undoubtedly continue to scour the market across the globe for the next up-and-coming star.

Zebedee Kennedy dream

One youngster who would clearly like to follow in the footsteps of his heroes is Mjällby AIF’s 15-year-old starlet, Zebedee Kennedy.

He joined the Swedish side from Sundsvall last summer and signed a three-year deal at the club.

The young player has been described as “one of Sweden’s most interesting young talents” and “the perfect player” for Mjällby.

The teenager perhaps already has his sights set on something bigger than the Swedish league in the future, according to his comments to Fotbollskanalen.

Elaborating on his future plans, Kennedy explained, “of course, my dream is to play for my father’s favourite club, Manchester United. It would be nice to see him in a shirt like that with my name on the back.”

Kennedy would need to wait until he is 18 years old to fulfil this dream, according to recent changes to recruitment laws for clubs outside of the European Union.

He has made a positive start to international football, scoring three goals in five matches for the Sweden U-15s.

The Red Devils are clearly keeping an eye on the Scandinavian market, as they have been linked to AIK Fotboll’s 17-year-old striker Kevin Filling.
