Zenit have announced the signing of Red Bull Bragantino midfielder Jhon Jhon on Wednesday. The move follows renewed contact late last year.
According to Globo.com, the fee is 18.5 million euros guaranteed, potentially rising to 20 million with bonuses, worth R$114 million at current rates, or R$124 million if add-ons are triggered.
Bragantino owned 80% of the player’s rights, equating to 14.8 million euros, around R$91.2 million, from the fixed sum. Palmeiras retained 20%, worth 3.7 million euros, and are also due FIFA training compensation.
Zenit’s interest dates back to mid 2025 and the club returned at the end of the year. After facing Corinthians last week, Jhon Jhon expressed gratitude. He said he would leave happily if a move happened or stay happy if it did not, that he dreams of Europe to help his family, and that the outcome was in God’s hands.
He made 76 appearances and scored 20 goals for Bragantino. He joined in July 2024 after leaving Palmeiras for about four point five million dollars plus a further two point five million dollars in potential add-ons.
