FC Red Bull Salzburg Women 0-0 FK Austria Vienna
Still undefeated and with 17 wins out of 19 ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga matches, FK Austria Vienna have been dominating the top flight at will this season - but not today! Our Salzburg women put up a remarkably courageous fight at the Red Bull Football Academy and delivered a performance in this 0-0 draw that should whet appetites ahead of their upcoming rematch in the Austrian Women's Cup final.
The roles were clearly defined. While the Viennese side dictated the play, our team focused on closing down space and, if necessary, creating attacking opportunities of their own. Although Schöffel slid in to intercept a cross early on, the impressive Austria Vienna player put the ball over the bar, and the league leaders didn't offer much else after that. After a Cordes attempt and a Uka shot after goalkeeper Michaela Fischer made a misplaced pass – in both cases, Fischer ultimately defused the situation, and the teams went into the dressing room goalless.

Under bright sunshine, but also challenging temperatures, the style of play didn't change much after the restart. Fischer just kept on pulling off saves. First, a free kick from the side, then a Kirchberger header – and even Skorvankova's double chance was thwarted by the goalkeeper.
As a result, the Viennese side grew increasingly frustrated and were fortunate that our team didn't inflict upon them their first defeat of the season. Lucia Orkic's 25-yard rocket only hit the post, and Krassnig's attempted chip from a promising position didn't quite go as planned. Nevertheless, Pavlovic's team earned a proud point against the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga leaders!

We saw once again why Austria Vienna are the undisputed league leaders. They play extremely well in all phases of the game, which makes me all the more pleased that we found the right answers and maintained our proactive approach throughout the 90 minutes. There was a lot of passion on the pitch and you could simply feel the energy. That was really cool, I'm at least as happy about it as I am about the point, which was absolutely deserved.
