1. FC Köln ‘working on’ Gideon Mensah signing | OneFootball

According to Sky Germany, 1. FC Köln are working on a deal to bring Ghana international Gideon Mensah to the RheinEnergieStadion. The left-back is a free agent after his Auxerre contract expired.

The 27-year-old has played every minute of Ghana’s World Cup campaign this summer.

Further talks are expected once the Black Stars’ involvement in the tournament comes to an end.

Mensah made 30 Ligue 1 appearances for Auxerre last season, helping the club secure top-flight survival.

If an agreement is reached, he is expected to replace Kristoffer Lund, who has departed following the expiration of his loan.
