Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha really wants to join Arsenal during the ongoing January transfer window and is pushing for the move to happen, according to Team News and Ticks on Patreon.
Team News and Ticks – a Gunners account and insider – famous for leaking team news on the internet and followed by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, David Ornstein, Fabrizio Romano and Gary Jacobs on X (formerly Twitter), have been a trusted source concerning all things Arsenal, and they have claimed this afternoon that the Brazilian is trying everything to make a deal happen.
The Wolves star has reportedly agreed personal terms with the North London club, but he has also agreed to sign a new deal with the Molineux Stadium club.
However, Cunha is now refusing to sign the deal as he feels he has a huge chance of joining Arsenal right now.
The Gunners will not be held to ransom as far as paying a fee goes and are not ready to pay over the odds.
As it stands, the 25-year-old could remain with Wolves beyond the January transfer window or join Arsenal if both clubs can reach an agreement.
His manager Vitor Pereira slammed him after last night’s defeat against Chelsea, insisting he was far from pleased with his body language during the game.
Cunha could not add to the ten goals and four assists he has bagged in 21 Premier League appearances this term, but he remains an Arsenal target and landing him will be huge.
The Gunners are in dire need of attacking reinforcements following key injuries, and the Wolves star would be a solid addition to their team.
The Midlands club are fighting relegation and selling their best player right now may not be exactly appealing to them.
However, they could be forced to let him go if he pushes for an exit, and Arsenal will be keeping tabs on the situation in order to make a swift move once an opportunity presents itself in the coming days.
