TSV 1860 Munich's bid to stay in the 3. Liga will go before the DFB Federal Court after the federation confirmed the club’s appeal would be heard.

According to BuLi News, the hearing will consider whether financial guarantees from investor Hasan Ismaik, lodged after the deadline, can still be recognised, and approximately €2.7 million was missing from the club’s paperwork when the window closed.

The club were denied a licence for the 2026/27 3. Liga season just over two weeks ago, then dropped to the fourth tier for failing to provide the required proof of liquidity.

With the licensing deadline already passed when the funds were allegedly made available, that timing could weigh heavily against the appeal.

The saga has sharpened long-running tensions between 1860 Munich and Ismaik, and the loss of the licence marks a second administrative relegation in less than a decade after a similar outcome in 2017.

If the appeal fails, the Lions would start next season in the Regionalliga Bayern, and attention could quickly turn to restructuring and the club’s future ownership model.

Members are expected to debate the situation at the upcoming meeting, but for now the club still have one last route to survival, even if the odds look against them.
