The 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations kicks off this Saturday, July 5, 2025, in Morocco. This will be the perfect stage to discover several promising young talents who could make a significant impact on the tournament and leave their mark on the history of African women's football.

These players have all the qualities to shake up the established order. Some have already tasted the intensity of continental football, while others now play in Europe or North America. All of them display remarkable maturity despite their youth. CAF has carefully picked five talents you should keep an eye on during this 15th edition of the Women's AFCON.

  • Deborah Abiodun (21 years old): Fearless midfielder for Dallas Trinity FC in the United States, nicknamed ‘Kanté’. She made her debut for the Nigeria national team on July 3, 2022, in a friendly against the United States. Since then, she has featured in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympics with the Super Falcons.
  • Ruth Bulala Nossa (21 years old): Dynamic midfielder for AAS Sarcelles, trained in France. She is set to make her debut in a continental tournament with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
