Following the final Matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season, Bulinews.com Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has picked his Team of the Season, which lines up in a 4-1-4-1 formation:
Gregor Kobel, Borussia Dortmund
Another impressive campaign from the Borussia Dortmund shot-stopper, who not only recorded the most clean sheets (15), but also conceded the fewest goals (34) and had the highest save percentage in the league.
Vladimir Coufal, Hoffenheim
The 33-year-old exceeded all expectations after joining Hoffenheim on a free transfer from West Ham last summer. Operating up and down the right flank, the Czech international was key to Hoffenheim’s strong performances and finished the season with nine assists and one goal. He also made more intensive runs than any other player in the league (2,800).
Jonathan Tah, FC Bayern
Tah quickly silenced his doubters following his move from Bayer Leverkusen last summer. The German international was a reliable and consistent presence at the back for the champions, winning 70.5% of his aerial duels and completing an impressive 96.3% of his passes.
Nico Schlotterbeck, Borussia Dortmund
Dortmund’s defensive leader enjoyed another strong season and played a key role in their league-leading number of clean sheets. Schlotterbeck also impressed in build-up play, completing 88.3% of his passes despite attempting many difficult ones, underlined by his league-high 187 completed long passes. He also racked up five goals and two assists.
Alex Grimaldo, Bayer Leverkusen
The left-back was once again an absolute key player for Bayer Leverkusen, racking up a highly impressive eight goals and eight assists from his left wing-back spot, while also acting as a leader for Die Werkself.
Joshua Kimmich, FC Bayern
A vital figure for Bayern due to both his ability and mentality, Kimmich ranked among the league’s best in almost all passing metrics and finished the season with two goals and eight assists in the league.
Yan Diomande, RB Leipzig
The Ivory Coast international was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season after a sensational debut campaign in Germany, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists. His dribbling stood out, and he topped the league for duels won (437), ahead of teammate Willi Orbán and Mainz’s Kaishu Sano (both 362).
Michael Olise, FC Bayern
A self-explanatory inclusion, Olise scored 15 goals, laid on 19 assists and was named Bundesliga Player of the Season after a remarkable campaign.
Deniz Undav, VfB Stuttgart
The German international was crucial to Stuttgart’s fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification, finding the net 19 times and providing six assists in 29 Bundesliga appearances.
Luis Diaz, FC Bayern
The winger impressed in his first Bundesliga season with his work rate, sharp dribbling and clinical finishing, ending the campaign with 15 goals and 17 assists in 32 games – averaging exactly one goal contribution per match.
Harry Kane, FC Bayern
Bayern’s star striker once again topped the scoring charts with 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances. He signed off the season in style with three goals in Bayern’s 5–1 win over Köln – his fourth league hat-trick of the campaign.
Substitutes: Moritz Nicolas (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Luka Vušković (Hamburger SV), Dayot Upamecano (FC Bayern), Julian Ryerson (Borussia Dortmund), Christoph Baumgartner (RB Leipzig), Said El Mala (1. FC Köln), Andrej Kramarić (TSG Hoffenheim).
