2026 World Cup: Already 16 teams have qualified

Colombia
The number of countries qualified for the next World Cup has increased from 13 to 16.
With Uruguay, Colombia, and Paraguay securing their tickets, we now know a third of the 2026 World Cup field. South America already has its six representatives, while Asia and Oceania have also delivered part of their verdicts.
The African zone is entering its final sprint and is expected to reveal many new qualifiers as early as the next international break, with the end of the qualifiers approaching.
The teams qualified for the World Cup as of September 5, 2025: Canada (host), United States (host), Mexico (host), Japan, New Zealand, Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Colombia.
