The best and worst possible draws for DR Congo if they qualify for the 2026 World Cup

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) will be vying for Africa’s 10th qualifying ticket for the 2026 World Cup in the intercontinental playoffs.
On March 31, 2026, the Leopards will face off in the playoff final against the winner of the showdown between New Caledonia and Jamaica.
While awaiting qualification for the World Cup, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) is projected to be placed in Pot 4 for the group stage draw, which will take place on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
As a reminder, the draw pots for the 2026 World Cup group stage have been set as follows:
Pot 1: Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, United States, Mexico, Canada.
Pot 2: Croatia, Morocco, Colombia, Uruguay, Switzerland, Japan, Senegal, Iran, South Korea, Ecuador, Austria, Australia.
Pot 3: Norway, Panama, Egypt, Algeria, Scotland, Paraguay, Tunisia, Ivory Coast, Uzbekistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa.
