Despite having won all the big domestic trophies last season, there are several changes set to take place in this FC Barcelona squad before the end of the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Catalans are looking to incorporate some players into their team to strengthen some of their weak areas, with the signing of a goalkeeper and a left winger being the top priorities.
Meanwhile, some players are also expected to leave, especially those who are not expectedly to play a prominent part in Hansi Flick’s plans for the next season. One such player is the Spanish midfielder Pablo Torre.
Torre himself wants to stay at Barcelona but understands that he is not going to get many minutes, and thus, he will have to leave. Meanwhile, the Blaugrana club also does not want to lose him.
Thus, Mundo Deportivo reports that the player is willing to work out his future with Barcelona, and the Catalan club’s plan is to offer him a renewal, as his current contract has only one year left. After that, they want to send him on a loan of the highest possible level to let him continue with his growth and development.
However, the midfielder himself is not too keen to go on a loan, although he is open to the idea of a renewal. Another alternative in this situation could be a sale with a buyback option. But for now, Torre is looking to gain Flick’s trust before making a decision in this regard.

Regarding Flick’s trust, the Spaniard understands that one reason he has not had a lot of minutes on the pitch is the presence of a lot of competition for his position, where Dani Olmo, Gavi, Fermin Lopez, and Pedri all can play. Otherwise, the German coach likes the player and has also spoken highly about his professionalism and performance to the board.
Talks between Pablo Torre and Barcelona are expected to begin shortly and can be extended beyond the start of the preseason. But for now, the player will be fully focused on the UEFA European U23 Championship.
