FC Barcelona surprisingly had quite a difficult first half as they faced the newly-promoted Real Oviedo team last night in their last La Liga encounter.

Despite having faced defeat in 5 of their 6 matches up to now, Oviedo made things quite difficult for Blaugranes in the first half, and a Joan Garcia error also allowed them to go into the half-time break with a 1-0 lead.

However, Hansi Flick made the needed adjustments in the second half, and ultimately, the Blaugranes came out winners with a 1-3 scoreline. Eric Garcia opened the scoring, and as Mundo Deportivo has noted, he showed once again that he can come up with decisive goals when his team needs them.

The 24-year-old Spanish defender has already helped Barcelona with decisive goals, two of which came in the UEFA Champions League last season. He scored in the match against Benfica to make it 4-4, and it was also his goal that sparked the comeback against Inter Milan in the semi-final.

Similarly, he also opened the scoring in the El Clásico that ended up 4-3 in the Blaugranes’ favor, and also in the last season’s opening game of the Copa del Rey against Barbastro.
