Angelo Stiller is a player Chelsea have been linked with in the past, and one who would be available at a reasonable price.

He’s playing in midfield for a good Stuttgart team, and finished the season well. He got WhoScored ratings of 7 or above in 4 of his team’s final 7 league games of the season. He played well against Bayern Munich in the German cup final, despite his team ultimately losing.

Stiller could be perfect cheap option for Chelsea midfield

If Chelsea want a quick, cheap option to bolster their midfield, one with a bit of grit and experience but still room to go to another level, Stiller could be a good option. The big money is likely to be spent up front and perhaps on an elite centre back, so a bargain midfield option may be on the cards.

It’s understood that the transfer would cost around €60m, and it would break the pattern of recent years to some degree. But it may be the direction we’re going in if there are indeed changes to the strategy.

Stiller could replace Enzo Fernandez if the Argentine were to leave, although they are different profiles.
